Wrong Amperages
Do you have a 30, 40 or 50 amp circuit. Many people buy a generator that won't work with their electric supply.

Most people (99% of people have 30 amp breakers) don't have a problem with the smaller generators 6kw or 7.5 kw. The larger sizes require 40 and 50 amp breakers. Many people order steam generators that don't own their own homes who buy the generator and then have to return it. We always get these and discount them.

If the wrong size fuse is used it can increase the risk of an electrical fire. Make sure you use the right fuse.

For those buying 7.5kw or higher wattage steam generators, make sure you have the right electrical power. (they will not work with a 30 amp breaker anything over 6KW. We get returns all the time and also discount those returns if anyone wants a wrong size return model). If the fuse is not correct it can damage the generator and this is not covered by warranty. Also, just so people know, when companies have a lifetime warranty on their generator, that is a warranty that there is no manufacturing defects. In all the years of business I have never had a problem where it is the manufacturer's fault.

Note: make sure you use the right gauge wire. Some contractors get it wrong some times. If you want to be sure make sure you ask them and find out with the manufacturer to double check if you don't have a background in electrical engineering. If too much amperages is going through a thinner gauge wire it can overheat and cause a fire.

If you have any questions about wiring or amperage needed for your steam generator make contact.

There are also calculators online for those that want to do this themselves. If you are wondering if your steam generator is too powerful for your electrical supply... just say its a 7.5 killowatt generator..

If you have a 30 amp and its a 240 volt circuit, thats 30 x 240 = 7200 watts.  If your generator is 7.5 kw, thats 300 watts over.

Beware: If you have get a 7.5 KW generator and its 300 over, it will cause the circuit breaker to cut off and this happens when most people first turn their steam generator on when they didn't size it right. You will either have to get a larger 40 amp breaker or go down to a 6KW.

Please let me know the amperage of your electrical supply on my sizing questionnaire if you need help.
