My steam quiz is designed to help you pick out the steam generator based on the answers you choose.
Take the Steam Generator Quiz below.
Drippiness:
Steam that is from low pressure is the drippiest. Drier steam is more gassy and less drippy.
Loudness:
Steam with less humidity is more relaxing and easier to breath in.
How long do you want to stay in before your core heats up too much before you want to get out?
If the steam is too wet and the latent heat is too high it will be harder to enjoy the steam longer. Heart rate will go up to fast.
Continuous or Delayed?
This is the biggest decision to make when getting a steam generator.
Is your ceiling going to be slanted?
If not slanted, I do not recommend steam that has a high latent heat index.
Are you leaning more towards a drier steam or a wetter steam?
Pressurized and non-pressurized steam generators both have their advantages and disadvantages.
feedback or comments about my site:
(I give discounts to those that give me feedback that will help my site)
Are you installing a marine grade waterproof fan for a more uniform steam?
There is really needed if the ceiling is 8 feet high or over.
Some generators require lots of maintenance and adding chemicals to the tank every month for descaling.
What degree of maintenance do you want?
Is your water hard?
Definitely go for 304 grade surgical steel if you have hard water unless you want to do a lot of maintenance over the years.
Are you sensitive to any odors or metallic smells?
Cast iron has the worst smell over time. Galvanized stainless steel can also leach down the road.
Do you plan on adding oxygen to steam room?
Many people use nasal candulas and hook up an oxygen concentrator. This is called EWOT (exercise with oxygen therapy)
Do you have any blood pressure problems?
If you have been in a sauna where you pour water on the hot rocks, do you like the feeling of that dry steam?
Do you like your steam so dense that you can't even see the person in front of you?
How important is customer service once you have you generator?
Usually the Chinese import brands being sold rarely answer the phone and you get a voicemail. They usually work by email.
I want my steam generator made in North America ONLY
Beware, some companies say their generators are made in the USA but really it's from China and just assembled here.
Many people buy the wrong size from manufacturer's and upsize or downsize their generator.
Are you interested in a returned steam generator shipped from the manufacturer with full warranty.
What level would you like to speak about steam rooms on?
Do you want a steam generator that requires a steam drip pan? (Higher end models do not require a drip pan)
Using plastic valves and not having a pressure reducer is the big cause of leaks.
Are you using an in line filter or using unfiltered tap water into the steamer? Some brands do not work so well with high TDS water.
What type of lighting do you want?
Do you want to heat your entire body (full body steam therapy for full body vasodilation or just your upper body?
Are you trying to use the steam room to create heat shock proteins?
Will you have a two level bench in the steam room? (this can help to see if we need to bring down the steam trap from the ceiling)
Which is more important to you? Smart home features, better controllers, bluetooth or a better steam quality and little to no smart home features?
If you don't know the dimensions yet, leave blank.
Do you prefer a tig welded steam generator or robotically welded (Chinese import generators)
Tig welded generators should last about 30 years. Others may need maintenance every 6 months to 2 years.
Which do you prefer - if not sure, leave blank

made Steam Generators
Would you be interested in a scratch and dent or returned steam generator?
Manufacturers give us discounts if there is a blemishes on the steam generator, or a customer bought it and realized they bought the wrong size before installing it. These are brand new unlike used ones that are even cheaper.
Thanks for reading my site. I worked hard at building this site. I continue to add more as I learn more and newer things come out. I hope you enjoyed my videos and articles and if you learned anything, I love hearing from people.
How many minutes do you want to wait till the steam room gets to your desired temperature (example 110 to 114 degrees)
Do you use steam therapy for your lower body, upper body, or both
Temperature:
110-114 is the most preferred comfort zone - Under that you might complain it takes too long. Over that, many people have to leave in under 20 minutes.
Where will you be placing your steam generator (attic, under the bench, closet?
Are you a contractor or will your contractor be purchasing for you?
don't know yet
I wanted it to get really hot then cool, (duty cycles)
Not sure yet

no
little to none if possible
I don't mind monthly maintenance

my water is very hard
my water is average hard
I have soft water
don't know yet
I do not want impurities leaching into my steam
I need something cheap. I will just replace the parts when needed.
no
not sure by may be interested
yes, I would like to know more
not interested in adding oxygen
yes, and I want a dryer steam that I can stay in longer
no
yes, I prefer my steam dry and cloudy
I might have to buy a pressurized generator due to my budget
I still haven't experienced wet versus dry steam
yes, now that is what I'm talking about
that might be too intense for me
don't know yet
I want a company where a live person answers every time
as long as it works I don't really need to contact the manufacturer
I only want to buy from a company that is 20 years old or older
I do not want a Chinese import
I want my generator made in the USA or Canada
I don't care where it is made
not sure yet. I still need to get advice
yes, as long as it almost brand new I would take it for a deep discount
I prefer brand new
it really just depends on the price
I don't mind if it's a little scratched or dented
nope, it must be in perfect condition
No, I don’t want to have to dump it and mess with that.
Yes, I don’t mind the extra work

I want tig welded only
Cheaper is better for now. I will just replace parts as needed
not sure. still need help deciding
a steam session at intense heat on my upper body but not so much on my feet
a milder temperature mixing hot ceiling steam with a fan with the cooler floor temperature and heats my body slowly and evenly
I want a full body steam experience but don't want to lower the heat intensity
elementary level (no Boyle's law, heat co-efficient, dryness fractions, heat shock proteins, or any technical talk please!
